Background

Quentin is of Ngaiterangi, Te Arawa & Ngati Raukawa descent. He graduated from Victoria University of Wellington with a Master of Laws degree. Admitted for 25 years, he is one of the most senior Māori barristers in the country. Quentin has lead well over 100 criminal jury trials and is an experienced appellate Court advocate. Quentin is also regularly appointed by the District Court, High Court and the Court of Appeal to appear as amicus curiae to assist self-represented defendants.


Instructions

Quentin accepts private instructions and has an established instructing solicitor. In relation to criminal cases, Quentin is available for legal aid work, but that tends to be limited to charges that carry life imprisonment.
